One Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty Four Days.
Math is really simple, when it boils down to exact numbers. 1,924 days. That is how many days it has been since June 3, 2006. That was a day when I witnessed Ian, my son a couple of months passed his second birthday have a tonic-clonic seizure. If you are vaguely familiar with seizures you might be more familiar with the term “grand-mal”.
At the time I knew nothing. I only knew that...

So, here is the thing about Pelfrey.
He is not that good.
He throws a mediocre flattish fastball, that on occasion has a hard sink to it. Can’t miss bats. Need to miss bats to be efficient and effective in MLB.
He is ultimately a back of rotation starter that can give you innings and on occasion when his ball is sinking will appear to be dominant. But he has no fall back pitch, and worse his composure is not major league...

Here is Ike Davis taking ground balls on the infield during batting practice, before his first big-league game.
The thing is, using Tumblr, and the publishing app for the mobile device, I was able to post this roughly 30 seconds after shooting it.
This is something Wordpress is SORELY lacking.

Imagine compliance with this!
A couple of days ago I mentioned on Twitter that I came across the most stifling set of social media regulations I have seen to date. Well here is a snippet, with some word removal here and there. Bullet point two is the kicker. Reads like a website circa 2001.

On the 4th Day of Christmas, beers brewed north &...
This one will be short, I hope, not because the beers are uninteresting or lack reason for long winded ale diatribe, but I am multi-tasking a bit at the moment.
When the calender flips from October to November each Halloween, I start to become like my kids thinking about the oodles and oodles of adult candy (aka beer) that begins to be passed out at some of the houses I frequent (this does not...

On the 3rd Day of Christmas...Three Kings.
One of the best things about holiday beers is there are seemingly endless variations and excellent options for tucking a few bottles away in the cellar to age. I have mentioned cellaring in passing a couple of times now, if you are not familiar with the concept it is fairly simple. Strong ales, and some lagers, can be aged to present interesting more developed and refined aroma and flavor...

On the 2nd Day of Christmas...Belgian Darks,...
So last post I tackled a few holiday favorite ales in American craft brewing from the west coast, all readily available these days in the Albany area (and certainly beyond). This time we will go through a few winter wonders of lesser fanfare as we begin to travel the beerstore aisle of the Northeastern corridor as well as dabs of Belgium and a nod to our fine friends north of the border.
First...

A Pint in a Pear Tree? The Ales & Lagers of...
The only thing that can be said with certainty regarding beer made specially to celebrate the winter holiday season, often specifically Christmas, is that nothing is certain and anything goes. In posts over the next few days I am going to take a look at several holiday classics and new releases readily available in the capital region.
Long before the craft beer revolution in the United States...

How is that title for a ridiculous tie in to grab attention including a bizarre allusion to Niagara Falls?

C.D. Brew Review: Can I get over my Pumpkin Ale...
As a beer geek (you can translate that to beer snob if you like) I have taken to the idea that I have never met a beer style I do not enjoy. Some beer drinkers can’t stand Belgian ales, I absolutely live for them, even the ones that supposedly have aromas and character akin to those of a barn (they don’t by the way in my opinion). Others find various lagers to be too pedestrian or...

Social Media Will Impact Your Business – Just Ask Rock Art Brewery
written by Patrick Boegel, Director of Media Integration
